Most hoodies sold in Bangladesh sit between 280 and 320gsm. It is the cheapest place on the spec sheet to save money, and it is the first thing you feel when the garment collapses at the shoulder after a month.
What gsm actually measures
Grams per square metre is the weight of one square metre of the fabric. Higher gsm means more yarn, more density, and more structure. It also means more cost — roughly forty percent more cotton in our hoodie than in a standard one.
What it changes when you wear it
- Shoulder structure. The seam holds a line instead of rolling forward.
- Drape. The body hangs straight rather than clinging.
- Lifespan. Dense loopback resists pilling for years, not months.
Weight is not luxury for its own sake. It is the difference between a garment that ages and one that degrades.
How to check it yourself
Hold the garment up to a light. If the light comes through the body evenly, the knit is open and thin. Ours does not. Then pull the cuff — heavy ribbing snaps back, cheap ribbing stays stretched.
